ICESAVE Communication problems, anyone else?

I recently asked for an amount of money to be taken out of my current account to contribute to this years ISA allowance (08/09) however nothing has been taken out, nor have I recieved any conformation of my request.

Anyone else having trouble with ICESAVE? Thought I'd ask here first rather than ring their £4 a minute 'notmuchhelpline'.

Thanks in advance.

Calls to ICESAVE from BT landlines cost a maximum 3.95p per minute (PENCE!) not pounds.

Never had a problem ringing them - Top notch service in my book.

How did you ask? Presumably by logging into your account with Icesave and making a payment?

No never had a problem contacting them by phone. As Goldfinger said it is 3.95p a minute maximum. However you can also use their geographical number of 0191 2558377 if you have inclusive calls at any time and it will cost you nothing.
  • When I opened my savings account with them they decided to remove half of my postal address, including the flat number and post code. This obviously made getting post from them quite difficult. It was only because the postman recognised my name that I got anything at all. They tried to tell me that I had entered my address incorrectly on the form, which believe me I had not. They were not able to change the address on the phone or via email so had to send me a change of address form. Obviously this form was sent to the wrong address. This went round and round for ages. I must have filled in 3 or 4 forms just to change the address. Each time they inputted the address incorrectly. Eventually they decided that it was possible to just change it over the phone.

Ok when opening account but I have had problems with web site access (unavailability) and ISA (apparently lost transfer into Icesave) over the last month or so. No answer on the telephone line after a reasonable wait ( I think the message advised of a 30 minute queue?) and 10 days turn around on emails. I have moved the ISA to Lloyd's/TSB but at present I am still using the saver account. I am encouraged to see that Goldfinger has good communications and service as it gives me confidence to retain the saver account.

Ah, I hold my hands up, my mistake! I assumed £3.95.

    Will give them a ring.

Many thanks for your help.
  • Icesave's customer service on the email side... isn't very good, however ring them on their number (I use the geographical one posted above) and yes, you wait, about... 5 minutes, but because its on a geo number its not too expensive. You get to speak to a real person! (Call centre based in Newcastle, I'm fluent in the Geordie Dialect so I find it easy! ;)) They really go out of their way to help you, I had a nominated account problem and they promised me their top support person would fix it that evening (I phoned at 6.30pm) and it was done. A really nice woman from icesave told me that they put 'notes' on our account so that the next person has a really good idea with what is going on with your account, which is a help, and if you slightly mess up with your account settings (I sent a form off before deleting something online), they don't make you send the form off again. I think this is due to their small size, unlike my major bank 'coughs *natwest*'. My advice, never bother emailing them, give them a ring, also I always say 'Have a great day' at the end of the call, yes, I know its cheesy, BUT it makes them feel good, and probably makes sure my request gets dealt with swiftly! I must add.... Kaupthing Edge has the best customer service, ICICI answer your call quickly but they're call centres are abroad and their staff usually are very rude on the phone, is it ICICI's policy to shout at their customers?

I have never had a problem with my account with them. But mine is a Easy Access Account. Money goes in about 3 days - no problems and money comes back out withint 24 hours - no problem.

Rang them once and was dealt with quick and efficiently..
  • My experience with Icesave has been excellent so far. Opened savings account from scratch online in Jan, and transferred ISA to them a month later, which was completed in three weeks. They sent me several letters along the way (possibly too many to be honest), and everything has worked like a dream online. I've never had to contact them or take any money out yet though ... ;)
