the easiest way to work out the 8% is to use the calculator on the bank charges forum - feed in the £91.79 for each of the months paid and it'll work it our for you. The actual formula is (91.79 x .0002222) x number of days since premium paid

I've queried the missing 8% and they've said

"Our offer does not include an additional 8% interest that is mentioned on the various websites assisting customers with PPI complaints. You would only earn the 8% if you had placed your monthly payments into a savings account with a very generous rate of interest. As it stands we are not offering an additional 8%, however once we have the full calculations we can discuss further."

Am i definitely entitled to this or should i cut my losses? It's about £400.

Hi, as a "newbie", I wondered if anyone can help me urgently. Took out a loan via Freedom Finance with IGroup in 2003. Wrote all the letters and in the end told Freedom Finance that I was taking them to Court. They have now put in their defence and deny that I was mis-sold etc. I don't understand half the jargon. I have to reply by May 1st. Is there anyone that could possibly help me? I don't want to write all that was written in their defence, as it would be tooooo long!
    Please help

hi i am also new to this and im am going to try to claim the insurance back on a secured loan as when we took out the unemployment cover we thought that we would be ok if we came out of work ,,, we thought wrong when my partner came out of work i claimed for all four of us on WFTC. GE money said to claim on the ins he would of had to claim Job seekers allowance. which we couldnt do as you cant have both benefits and we would of been 100s of pounds worse off , not sure where i stand with this would be grateful of any advice

Tiggrae should be able to confirm this later on hun, but to be honest I would have thought you would be entitled to that 8% interest....... !!!

    Hi there Sheena
You definately have a complaint straight away here hun, when did you take out this policy?;)

I was also wondering, did they actually mean that one of you would have to be signing for with the Jobcentre?
This is also to state that if you actually come out of work, for instance redundancies etc, that normally the thing to do to show you are actively seeking work you would have to send off a form from the jobcentre to state this ??

I must say my two claims For mis sold PPI look quite simple compared to others on here
    My two are with
Ocean finance - single premium & sort term PPI compared to loan term
    GE Money - same thing

both have now got my request letter and are looking into it and will get back to me within 4 weeks. I 'm fully expecting a fight on both fronts though

no I don't think so - target only transferred the assets not the liabilities
