Is that what you used to do then maxdp or still do??

Yes worked in mental health and learning disabilities and now do training on teaching staff how to deal with violence and aggression including breakaways and teaching people how to restrain people in a passive way. We not nasty and do not do nasty pain compliance stuff. Work throughout NHS and private healthcare including one of the big private healthcare companies that most people have heard about so have been quite lucky.

it really is difficult to say because of what the FSA have said about firms being able to charge 'reasonable costs' so long as you know how much you're out of pocket by and can compare it to how much is offered (if an offer is made) then will be able to decide what you believe to be reasonable.

As it stands at the moment there is no calculation guidelines for 'reasonable costs' - but FP always offer 78% of the PPI, without taking into consideration any interest, but it's down to each individual to decide whether they believe this to be a fair amount !!!
oh no then, I have now emailed my adjudicator and asked for the 20% of the settlement bit being £4080 plus interest, plus stat interest as you advised me back in May. Have i now made a mistake.

    LOL.

I was really meaning more to maxdp's post about the mental act and if one is suffering from mental issues and the other is not then who is responsible for the other in law. Would you be able to use that act or would the other supposed to explain the lot to the one with issues.
really don't know enough about the area to make even a stab at answering !!!

    there's also this

Misrepresentation Act 1967 s2(1) as they breached Consumer Credit Act 1974. "A clause in the contract which states that a signature indicates full acceptance is not valid where it would be unlikely that the customer would have the skill and inclination to go through the fine detail". See case Howard Maine v A Ogden 1975.

Well done Tiggrae another thing to put in.

You advised me to say that on my form:eek:

As for what you paid - as a rough guide your PPI looks like it was about 20% of the
£286 a month you were paying - so 20 of £21400 you paid on early redemption is £4280 - that's just a rough guide though - on the FOS claim form you need to put down you want the full amount you had to pay for the PPI on early redemption, plus any interest + 8% statutory interest

I have added my email today
I wanted to add to my complaint that i want back from Barclays trading as Firstplus the amount that i had to pay on early redemption of my PPI being around 20% of the settlement figure of £20400 totalling £4080 plus any interest and also statutory interest too.

Help me here tiggrae... what have i done now:confused::confused:

What I mean by that is if somebody is at risk to themselves or others you have under the Mental Health act 1983 able to restrain people or to keep them safe or to give them prescribed medication if they are section 3. We train in a totally passive way and do not hurt people to make them comply, Not like lots of companies who use pain to make people comply with being restrained.
