Thanks for the quick response
I have had a look through the forum but mine seems different because it started longer than 6 years ago and has ended.
I wont give up in that case... will write to ombudsman today and post tomorrow.
I paid back a fortune on this loan (over 3 thousand!) and left f/t work 4 months after I took it out to become a student again (which they know about) so it wasn't even relevant to me then!
Sorry so sound daft but what do I need to check the companies reference for?
Thanks again?0 -
Sorry, that should have been
thanks again!
NOT thanks again? !!!! I am sure I want to thank you, it wasn't a question!!!!0 -
hi ya di hows it going? got a letter yesterday from the fo my claim is now being passed on to the support team , my first loan with fp was taken out in nov 04 and was settled feb 06 when a new loan was arranged but have now found that fp were not registered with fsa until jan 05 my question is will the first loan be dismissed by the fo because it was taken out before they were registered although it was not settled until after registration.0

Hi hun and no your not daft lol, I'm still learning too...:D .
Right okay the reason why I mention about the firm number these can be checked on 'companies house' or if you want to google in 'FSA register' and write down the firm's name this will tell you if they were regulated, whereas if they were then when taking out the policy the FOS will not turn it away.;)
I imagine because its Barclays bank they would have been.;)
And not to worry about 'thanks again' ? lol, I know what you meant, in fact I am making some spelling errors today lol.:D .
Give us a shout hun if you need further help, but the complaint form will be on the 'FOS' website.;)
Good luck.
Di.

Hi there Dazzer.;) okay thanks hun and you ?;)
Now I had this problem too hun..... , annoying isn't it ?
Okay Daz, not to worry we will still fight this.
There is a possibility the FOS may dismiss this, see what they come back with first, maybe FP were joined with someone else where you can try to pursue with them - where they were regulated at the time of you taking the product.
The FOS sent mine back from Endeavour personal finance, but I tried anyway, my loan was for over 25 years, taken in July 2004 and settled in full in Oct/Nov 2005.
I am now trying their other links, but if not successful I will try Endeavour again but on the unfair rebate side of things, I think the FOS will look at that because your not pursing on mis selling but the rebate.
You may have grounds to claim this if you think the rebate was very low.;)
There are ways around this Dazzer hun, so no giving up yet.:D

It has to be the date at which the sale was made and not the settlement date.0 -

as on formal adjudication it states that he is unlikely to change result of adjudication. So if I was you I would go for it with the FOS as they are likely to look at your complaint as date is almost same as ours .Goodluck and don,t give up it may take a while but will be worth it in the long run.0 -

Hi, Our loan with FP was taken out Dec 04 and still running.Fos have investigated our claim and upheld it but FP are fighting this so it has now been passed to ombudsman for final decision.Hopefully he will also uphold this

Good advice Kinikki and the very best of luck with yours too.;)
Well worth seeing what the FOS says, it could go in your favour yet, fingers crossed to all.;)
