Sent the first letter and they replied saying no - send another one adding the bit about if renewing then had to have ppi cos had it on 1st loan, they replied saying no once again but did not say it was their final response, do i send them a third letter asking them to investigate fully and point out how quickly they replied? please confirm as I've had a very busy day and have lost the ability to think rationally, many thanks all. p.s. had a refund on the 1st loan - who do i escalate it to - the same person?
I agree with Marshallka when you send the SAR they know you mean business cos they have to give you everything on the full account make sure you recieve the details of both loans.
    shout if you need help

    Evening everyone,
I won my reclaim against Halifax BoS for PPI and received the full £378.22 plus £34.88 statutory interest. Today I have been hounded by them for not paying £399 to finish my loan, (which ended in March 2008). They have also placed 2 late payment notices on my Experian report, I must say I'm not a happy camper. Now I've got to ring them back in the morning after being given the runaround tonight and passed from one department to another. During one conversation I asked the man on the other end of the phone if this was retribution for daring to claim back the PPI, he nearly choked, trying to reply to that one.
Will keep you updated on this one

Wow sparky that doesn't soung good. surely you can refer back to FOS as that should not happen! I am not familiar with claiming PPI but have claim bank charges back with no penalities or bad experiian reports. Mayme some one here with more knowledge could advise you on what you can do!!

    Good-luck anyway!!
I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year

I am going to remind FP we are still waiting for our money or even a letter with the amount they are offering
.what do you think any comments welcome

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you in regard to our complaint concerning mis selling of the single premium insurance.
As you will be aware that the Financial Ombudsman has been involved with our complaint and you have now agreed to refund us the difference as nearest possible to what we would have been if we had been sold the loan without PPI.
As yet I have not received the financial details on the redress as requested by the FOS, so I would like to remind you of this.
I would also like to add that if I do not hear from you in due course I will be contacting the FOS at the end of June 2008.
I trust that such action would not be necessary and look forward to receiving the information and cheque as requested before this deadline.
Iwould be most grateful if you could confirm the receipt of this letter by email

    Yours sincerely

    Laini xx

As stated in the letter from FOS the amount will have interest at 8% per annum simple from the date our loan was redeemed to the date Firstplus pay this compensation.

Firstplus has agreed to their recommendation.

Will do, am doing all this on behalf of my dad - they're probably been stubborn cause they paid the first lot back and then i shouted at them about his home insurance and they knocked £220 off that as well! Will get the letter at the weekend and do a draft, will post it on here for you all to cast your expert eyes over. Thanks for all the help and support everyone!

I have a very strange sitation here. I receive a letter a few weeks ago regaurding a PPI with a company I have no record of having PPI with. I wrote and they said it was for loan I took out one year ago with Citifinances. I have never had a loan with citifinance. they said I paid a single premium of £607 I have looked through all my loan agreements with PPI I never ust incase cause sometimes they move loans (they start with one and finish with another i.e. I had one loan that started with money partners and it went to capital one) but never piad £607 as a single premium. No money has left my account unaccounted for. So I have no idea what all this is about but really worried about identity theft. I have now writen to citifinance to find out more, in the mean time does anyone know what I can do.
