    Thanks Di,
This may be a silly question but do you go for an unfair rebate & misselling?

If we didn't have any luck would we still get the £447.00 rebate they offered us or would we lose it ? Should we reply to the rebate offer letter as we haven't as yet ?

It worries me that we are going to be left with nothing as it's already cost us a fortune!!
£477 to what you paid is a joke. Go for the misselling here and mention that there rebate offer was unfair too.

    Hi there Marshallka

Thanks for stepping in here, I knew you would, because I know what this company are like by now, I did mention to Bluemoon yesterday that you may possibly have some input about these.;)
Cheers hun and good luck Bluemoon.;)
I am so glad I caught Bluemoon before agreeing to that stupid offer of the 78%. Its a complete insult here.

Here is tiggraes input to catinthehats offer that was calculated the same

Just found catinthehats post about the pro rata that FP work by and here is tiggraes response to it

Ok the 78% tends to be FP's norm (after taking into account administration costs etc)

The pro-rata figure is worked out on 78% of the remainder of the premiums (ie they are ignoring what you've paid todate as they don't believe it was mis sold!!)

They've worked it out on on a 5 year basis (ie 60 months) of cover - not the length of time you'll be paying for it - the 16 months is just to prove they are complete morons and can't work out the number of months since August 2004

Write back - tell them to stick it - you want all your money back, plus interest, plus 8% statutory interest - if they're not prepared to offer that ask them to put it in writing and say it's there final response (they should come back very quickly and say it is there final response) then send all three letters onto the FOS refer to your case number

The letter states that it is their final responce so is it worth contacting them?

    Bluemoon
Certainly and send all this off the FOS now. Tell them that too and it may be that there final response is no longer final. You need it all back if you are going for misselling.

I thought it was just a std letter.
Your letter was right to send but note Di has put another version on too. Its either, one is Laini's that she sent to Firstplus and that is the one you have posted above. I thought you were questioning the wording of it and the quoting of two acts..

    Hi Laura B

Can you put more info on here about whether you are going for mis sold etc was it a Credit card or a Loan.

Also have they put in the letter FINAL RESPONSE. Do not worry about going to FOS you just fill in the forms in your own words. Please do not be concerned.

If you can post the above info on here one of us (or all of us:eek:) will help you along the way:D
