This is exactly why i stopped going on package tours years ago. Its embarressing to see how our own act abroad when compared to other europeans. I have been to many many places over the years and almost without exception when i saw behaviour like this it was Brits responsible. I have no idea why our society went this way but it doesnt seem to be getting any better.0

Spot on.
I've been on a couple of package holidays - never again.
We drive to the continent now (something these feral familes fortunately wouldn't dream of doing), and it's remarkable how pleasant it is not to be surrounded by the hideous tattooed masses. Admittedly, the loud Dutch teenagers begin to grate after a little while, but they have nothing on British teenagers.0 -

I'd just like to say that I love Majorca!! When you need a weeks holiday of warmth and rest, this suits us fine. (Although we have been to plenty of other places). We like the short flight too.
We've had several holidays there and have stayed in some lovely places. We usually stay at Thomson Gold hotels which do not allow under 16's and which are usually in a very nice quiet location with spotless rooms, polite staff and very nice food. Because they do not allow under 16's, the pool areas are quiet, the restaurants geared up to adults etc etc. and you can really relax without the noise of kids.
The unfortunate All Inclusive hotel I described above WAS in Majorca but was not Thomson Gold and, as we discovered catered for families.
Maybe I'm being a bit hard, because I suppose families with young children have to watch the pennies but at the same time I do wish they would try and discipline their children and encourage them to eat politely in a hotel setting and not waste food and drink just because its "free". When ours were small we couldn't even afford hotels - we camped or caravanned!!:rolleyes:0
