went to the one in Rooksley, in Milton Keynes. They are very much in business!!0

been trying to find out any info about Scottish stores but nothing seems to be popping up on the web.0

JJB have stated that if a town/city has more than one store, then only 1 store will remain open.
Bedford is closing the one, probably the Retail Park as they cannot compete with Sports World which is there and keeping the town centre one.
The JJB excuse is that because England did not qualify for Euro 2008 they have made a loss (Which the prices JJB charge i'm not surprised)0 -
Manchester Area : Central Retail Park, Ancoats and West One, Eccles have already closed0

Watford Store had very little left by saturday morning and signs saying last day.0

I popped into the Romford store a couple of weeks ago and didn't really spot anything that constituted clearance sale prices.
Mainly Reebok/Puma/Nike/Adidas polo shirts 2 for £20 and the like.0 -
Goodramgate, York one is closing or may already have closed (they had a notice up 2 weeks ago about closing soon). Never popped in there myself but thought I'd post it here in case it's of interest to someone else. 2 other stores in York though including one not more than 300-400 yards away so doubt there'll be many bargains if they're still open anyway.0

For those of you happy that JJB is closing stores because you want to 'get back' at Dave Whelan etc please remember one thing....Dave Whelan sold JJB a few months ago so its the new owners who are closing stores.
Whelan treated workers like dirt and paid them as little as possible. Having worked for them as a manager I could tell you stories to make your toes curl. But as its a public forum I shall remain tight lipped!
Please don't go expecting 70% off latest stuff in the sale. All the good stuff will have been shipped out. You'll get 70% off previous season sale that's lying around, last of's etc.
JJB have circulated a list regarding what can/cannot be in sale. Basically all current season will be shipped out before the sale goes on.
It might be worth noting JJB have REFUSED to issue a list of stores which are to be closed, in the hope of them going quietly to remove the chance of bad PR
To update your list, the Chester Forum store closed with immediate effect a few days ago.
Finally, lets spare a thought for the regular sales assistants who have loyally served JJB for years who will have lost jobs this month. Shame on you, JJB.0
