Can't say I'm surprised to be honest.
They've been on the decline for years. Can't make their mind up what they are. One minute they're trying to be trendy & smart like JD.. the next it's all bargain basement stuff like SportsDirect.
The shops are an utter sh*thole too with staff that constantly harrass you with "do you need any help??" every 2 minutes.0 -
According to local news both Cheltenham and Gloucester shops will be closed by 20th April so get down there quickly!0

Hi there, I work for JJB - 70 stores are closing nationwide and they were told two weeks ago so most of their stocks have been transfered out since then - the stores closing in our region were,
Bagulay Retail Park,
Altricham Retail Park,
Stockport Town Centre,
Small Manchester Centre,
Warrington,
Ancoats,
Chester sealand rd,
biringham (not sure which one).
Its not just little shops the idea is they are closing stores that are in close proximity to other JJB's and all the ones near us closed today and handed thier keys in. The new big boss is giving stores new refits 'new era' and the emphasis is now on improved customer service and better quality brands (hooray for us no more patrick rubbish to sell!). On the upside as the stores get rebranded they will be selling stuff off cheap before they close for refit - our stores in the process now and we were told to half price all display fitness equiptment so there were some fab bargins so keep an eye out!Best Threads -

I think the High Street store has already closed. Presumably they'll be hanging on to The Roundhouse. It certainly looked like it was business as usual when I went there yesterday.0 -

JJB finally getting their come uppance for the price fixing scandal of football shirts a few years ago. And they said the £8.3 million fine wouldn't hurt them ! How arrogant could they get !
All this flannel about lack of sales because the Home Nations didn't make it through to the Euro Championships is absolute rubbish. It's more to do with having to set aside additional funds for future court cases to compensate people for ripping them off.
Bye Bye JJB !! Shame it's not the owners that personally suffer, but as usual their staff !0
