iphone on 02 and Quidco
Hello. The iphone price on 02 has been reduced by £100 so now £169 on the website for 8gb version. BUT - if you use Quidco and do the £100 cashback for getting an O2 contract, that therefore means you get a brand spanking new iphone for £69. Next step would be to get a better deal from o2!

When you order an iphone via the net (and quidco), you don't set up a contract. (Don't you do that later after you have received the phone, via itunes?).
So do you actually qualify for the £100 quidco cashback (as no contract has been entered into via quidco)?
Has anybody succeeded with this?0 -
I'm interested in the answer to this question, too!0

There was discussion about this yesterday but a BG posted a note to stop as it could have legal consequences for the MSE site if people are being encouraged to bypass getting a contract on the iPhone.

No question of trying to bypass getting a contract. (You an off duty traffic warden?)

Thanks Quentin! Just to re-iterate my original question, I am quite keen on an iphone and think if all adds up right I could get one for £69 through Quidco and then 02 if I choose one of their monthly contracts (prob £35 a month). Sounds too good to be true....0

Thank you.
Note that the £100 quidco offer only runs for 5 more days.0 -
This was not aimed as a personal attack on your very valid question - I was just saying that a similar discussion yesterday was subsequently stamped on after the conversation veered into how to bypass the contract bit, and hence as a warning for people to NOT encourage posting in a way that might make that happen again. You see?No question of trying to bypass getting a contract. (You an off duty traffic warden?)

I was looking at the QuidBlog myself just now and came back to post but been beaten to it.The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Not sure I see at all - looks a bit jobsworthy to me!!
We now know you only get the £100 from quidco once the contract has been set up.0 -
what's jobsworthy about trying to prevent one of my on-line hangouts landing in hot water over something? blimey! I don't even want an iPhone, but I do want MSE's website to stay here as it's jolly useful - so if that puts me in the same category as traffic wardens and wheel clampers (no offence to any in those professions), so be it!

what I'm not is a lawyer that writes crystal clear statements... but then some might say a good lawyer is often considered one who is able to effectively confuse matters!
If it makes you happy, I have highlighted the 'if' in my original post. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!
