Claim back from Credit card provider instead of Paypal?

Hi all,
Your credit card issuer should issue get involved with PayPal, as they are exactly the same as any other online retailer.
PayPal does not register it's self as a "Money Transfer" company so you're credit card issuer can issue a chargeback for things like "Good's not received" or "Not as described".
My advise to you is always use a MasterCard... the reasoning behind it is, if you receive the goods, and say they are not what you ordered or are fake, with MasterCard all you have to do is contact the seller and say you want to tender return the goods, THEY (saving you some pennies :money: )have to arrange and pay for return delivery, not you. Visa you have to arrange for return delivery, pay the costs, and have signed proof that they seller received them back.
This also apply's for Visa debit cards, however there aren't any chargeback's on Switch/Solo/Meastro.
As I said, PayPal doesn't register it self as a money transfer transaction, where as Western Union & NoChex do, so if you use these services, once they have transfered the money, that's their part done and you can't charge these back.
Avoid WU, NC, Cheques, and direct payments... my advise is actually use PayPal... and your CC (MasterCard if you can).
As for the CC and PayPal fighting it out, it doesn't really happen like that, however PP may try and tell you it is. The only way they can contest the issuers actions is to provide them with "Signed proof" that the cardholder or someone authorised by them signed for the goods... which in the case that you haven't received them... the CC will win.
Hope this helps... :TSmile... it's free0 -

Can you give some guidance as to the wording of a dispute claim? In some ways paypal has filled their obligation; they've transferred funds from the buyer to the seller.
Sorry to be a cynic but I do need some help here. I bought some items (paid for with paypal but outside of ebay) and the seller didn't bother to package them properly so they arrived damaged. He's basically said too bad and won't take them back. My credit card company's initial reaction has been to say the the CCA 1974 only covers 3-party transactions and that paypal is a fourth party so the CCA 1974 doesn't apply. Hence any advice is appreciated.0
