ineedcash Hi does anyone know if camping is available at this event
    thanks
Most of the campsites that are along the road into silverstone, only open for the Grand Prix i think that will be the same for the cuircut aswell) you would need to camp nearby. I know there is a campsite in Brackley, can look for the number if you want just let me know by PMing me.
  • Went to last years event at Donnington ..... FANTASTIC weekend out!!! you could walk round most of the pit areas and get to near enough anywhere you wanted to go.

Take a look at http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/maplarge.asp?county=Northamptonshire for campsites near Silverstone, as chocogirl has previously said most only open for Grand Prix week but if enough people pester the sites they might open.

Keep the earplugs safe if you're going to sit in any of the enclosed stands as it WILL BE VERY NOISEY ... but BL***Y good fun!!!

Enjoy the weekend, Pray to the gods of good weather!!!!!

Thanks for this! I've ordered 4 tickets for a family day out just in time for hubby's and daghter's birthdays. We live about 30 mins from Silverstone and have always wantd to go but Grand Prix has been too busy. Hope this is easier to get into on the day.

    Just got the email...........

Now in its fourth year, the World Series by Renault is a fixture in every motorsport fan’s diary. Last year, the UK World Series meeting was the most popular of the seven-date European series and the largest British motorsport gathering after the Grand Prix itself. In 2008, the WSR moves to the home of British motor racing - Silverstone!
On 7 – 8 June, the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit hosts the UK round of World Series by Renault, the free festival of motorsport that combines on-track thrills with off-track entertainment for the whole family. Tickets are FREE – apply now

This year it's at Silverstone, and it's STILL free!

Many MSEers went to Castle Donington last year, and speaking for my own family we all had a grand day out.

  • yeah, we went two years ago, and to be fair tried to go last year, but unfortunately it suffered from its own success.
at about 9:30am the queues on the m1 and all the way into donnington were mental. after an hour of not moving we took the next left turn to leave, it still took us another hour to get away from the place. we only live in derby so it should have been a 15 minute drive.
don't get me wrong, once there it's probably great, just plan your route. apparently the back way in through ashby and melbourne was a lot better.
it's a thumbs up but plan your route carefully.
