Hello
I've got my eye on an end of terrace 3bed house. Looking on the web I've found out that the house has been sold 3 times in the last few years.
Jan 2004 £195,500
Aug 2004 £272,500
Nov 2005 £249,975
So the current owners are selling after after 2.5yrs. Would any of you be concerned about this? About owners moving on so soon? It also seems strange to me that the people who brought it for £272,500 in 2004 sold it at a lost in 2005 for £249,975 as the market was still going strong then.
Any thoughts please?
Thank you in advance.

I would be extremely concerned!! Perhaps the Jan 2004 to Aug 2004 was to renovate the house as it was a dump, but then the buyer after that didn't stay long either, and just 2.5 years for the current owner.
But saying that, 1 in 3 marriages end up in divorce, and more so for those unmarried, so perhaps this house is cursed and unlucky, resulting in sale due to many relationship breakdowns!?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Any chance of repossession in Nov 2005? Someone bought at the price they couldn't afford. defaulted on the mortgage and the bank sold it for the price they could get quickly.
What it is on now?Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Thank you for your reply. Is there any way of knowing the history of the house? It's on the market now for 'offers in excess of £299,500'. Which is my other question really. Does this mean I shouldn't even bother making an offer if it's going to be below £299,500?Dummie0 -
Make whatever offer you feel comfortable with. They can only say no. I agree that the November 2005 sale could be a repo if they never really bothered to pay the mortgage.
I doubt the house is cursed. Sorry, but :rotfl:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Could just be a coincidence obviously, but my Neighbour from Hell alarm would be ringing.
If you are keen on the house, go round to the neighbour's (if it is an end terrace there should only be one neighbour) and have a chat with them. See if you can gauge anything from that.
Sometimes an end terrace (if it is on a corner) can be a gathering point for anti-social behaviour, so I'd be tempted to check the place out after dark, too.
Having said all that, there is probably absolutely nothing wrong with the place. Won't hurt to check, though.

I know I'm being silly. But I must admit I do tend to worry about everything and anything :rolleyes:Could just be a coincidence obviously, but my Neighbour from Hell alarm would be ringing.
This crossed my mind as well. As well as the thought that maybe it's haunted  :rotfl: Sorry.
Am I right in thinking that if I ask the owners or EA, they have a legal obligation to tell me if there are disbutes with the neighbours.Dummie0 -
Actually, I think the house is cursed now. As soon as I posted that last message, my laptop froze and I haven't been able to get back into it until now. That's never happened before on this one!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
