T-mobile: Any clever way to use up PAYG credit?
My T-mobile PAYG sim expired few years ago through non-use. I left it as it was since I believed there's not much credit left anyway.
Today, I accidentally logged into that account online (T-mobile site) and was horrified to see it still had £44 in it:eek:
I emailed T-mobile, but they won't re-activate it (obviously, but no harm trying:D ).
I found that I can use the credit for Web text (10p/txt), which is OK, but only for relatives since no-one recognises the number:o .
Are there any other clever ways of finishing the credit? It can't be transfered to another T-mobile sim, I've already asked:rolleyes:

They will if you try hard enough, they say things like the system won't let me but I know it can be over-ridden as they did it for me and gave me another £20 credit for all of the hassle! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Did you phone them up? (I emailed)They will if you try hard enough, they say things like the system won't let me but I know it can be over-ridden as they did it for me and gave me another £20 credit for all of the hassle!
And how big was the credit? Also, how long did you leave it?
Mine might be a bit too small a credit, and I left it too long. It's more than 2 years...0 -

I can't remember the lost credit amount now as it was about a year ago, less than your £44 but it was cut off due to not using it for over the 180 days (not two years though!). Yes I rang and got it escalated, much better than an e-mail for things like this! One person said that they would re-activate it but it never happened so another person got involved etc. etc. They can do it if they want to. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
surf the web on it, you can connect a laptop and phone then get the internet on the move.0

I think you'll find the SIM itself is disabled, so your web-on-the-move idea will not work IMO - but of course the web-texts totally bypass that so are still workingThe thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Can't find the sim either:rotfl:
Pity I can't use the credit to buy something on the T-mobile site:rolleyes:0 -
Long shot and thinking out aloud - but probably you'd have a text/call do the number to verify it as part of the process of signing up which won't work - you may have been able to use the PayPal SMS based payment thingummy to buy something!
EDIT: I was right: https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_mobile-activate-outside
Shame as it was a stroke of genius, even if I say so myself!!! :rotfl:The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!
