Angel, as you know if your buyer paid by paypal then they will just chargeback anyway so you will end up out of pocket.

Overseas post, at least for me, appears to be disappearing into a black hole so I now get not only a COP stamped but also a print out of the postage paid showing the weight of the parcel so I can attempt to reclaim from the post office. If my post office don't like it then tough. I do always take my COP forms to the post office already completed though so they can't ignore my request.

All you can hope for Angel is that the buyer doesn't realise they can do a paypal chargeback.

ALWAYS send international signed for when paypal is involved, makes things a LOT easier down the line

Sometimes it can take ages for post to america so how was it sent ? airmail or surface mail ?( surface mail can take about 2 months)
Unfortunately it has been said many times on these boards that it is the sellers responsability to make sure the item gets there safely.Sometimes it means taking a loss , and even with Cop you can still lose it. It was not the buyers fault you paid extra for postage nor is it there fault they have not recieved it. I would ask them to wait a bit longer, depending on the method it was sent, and then it does not matter if they are from USA or britain normally you would refund. If you were the buyer how would you feel ? I hate when this happens to me but then again I know it is probably my fault for not insisting on recorded just to prove to me that they get it.
It always seems things go wrong on ebay when we least want it to, ( I have just had to do to mega refunds this week so im suferring too! ).You are an honest ebayer so you probably know yourselve how you would like to be treated.Maybe your next sale you will send for a fortune and make up for it !

As regular readers will know I had two parcels coming from the USA on 3-4 day delivery take over a month. So just keep talking to the buyer.

As far as sending abroad is concerned you need to post either International signed for an additional £3.30. Or Airsure which I use (supposedly leaves on next plane!!??) for an additional £4.

Angel you really know all this already...:)

I would second what has been said above, you NEED to send via a signed for service, as well as insured! Then you *touch wood* should have no problems with PayPal or claiming from the courrier should the worst happen.

https://www.interparcel.com have some decent rates on courrier deliveries abroad because they have accounts with major ones such as Parcel Force and DHL. (depending whether you're sending a large package) I use them for some of my eBay sales and I have had no complaints as of yet.

    Cheers

Hi, yes I do know quite a bit already ...but remember I am heavily pregnant so am a bit dumb at the moment and like to be reassured! :)

I feel really bad for the person because she is really nice, I am thinking of putting another package together for her! (the first one was for girls baby clothes - I have a lot of them) she only has 3 feedback - none when I she had bid on my item!

I have just had to do 3 claims due to parcels not received, 2 from Hong Kong and one from a very rude person who didn't wanna take responsibility! I got the 3 refunds from paypal but it can't look good for my record?! Also I am lucky I know what I am doing!!

Thinking about it I have a parcel waiting for me @ the po...do you hink it coulda been returned cos it shoulda been there by now??

    ??

Angel, there is a limit on how many chargebacks a person can do on a single paypal account in a year, I don't know the details off hand but it might be worth checking. I have a horrible feeling it might be as low as three chargebacks a year.

I always thought if I ever got close to hitting that limit I would seriously consider closing my paypal account and starting again wih a new one on a different bank card so that I don't lose the chargeback option. It might be worth considering that as an option.

You can file one claim for each PayPal payment. There is a limit of three PayPal Buyer Protection claim refunds per calendar year (January 1 - December 31).
great! what do I do if I get scammed again???

I think it was originally to stop scammers from making multiple claims. However, I certainly wouldn't risk losing my protection and would certainly seriously consider totally closing the paypal account and starting again, or using the old once just to receive payments and open a new one to make payments in future.

It's worth checking the t and cs on paypal though as I might be wrong. It was just something i remember seeing once when I read up on buyer protection.
