I know some venues have really strict rules about numbers for weekend weddings. We have no lower limit as its a Monday.

Ours has a minimum of 100 for Friday and Saturday and Bank Holiday Sundays which would be £5k before we even started on an evening do!

Yes we looked at a venue that had a minimum 85 for the breakfast and 120 for the evening... and book at least 5 rooms in the hotel... we declined their polite offer to get us up to our eyeballs in debt before we start married life and went somewhere with no limits...

Another thing I've noticed is that the 'wedding package' at my venue says it's a minimum of 50 people - we were hoping to have only 28 at the ceremony/breakfast - so I now have to double check with the venue to see if they can accept the smaller number and for us to still have the 'package' - after all, we'll be having about 100 at the evening do.

Finally got to speak to the lady at the venue and the best she can do is reduce numbers to 45 - better than nothing.

Still have the problem of making the numbers up - we're starting with my side as a lot of them live in Scotland and thought that as they had further to travel, they would be more likely to come if they were going to the whole shebang! Not sure what we'll do if we can't get 45 out of that as it will mean upsetting rather a lot of H2B family is we invited some and not others!!

My bridesmaids dresses and OH's tartan don't match.

Saying that they don't clash either :rotfl:

If you're still having the bridesmaids dresses you posted earlier should look great :D

My OH couldn't get his own tartan to hire so have gone for something that is almost identical.

He would have looked a bit odd in a morning suit as he's only 5' 6" tall and a little round - will look great in a skirt though! :rotfl:

As you lovely peeps are such a fountain of knowledge, I thought I'd ask this here!!

I've been thinking of making my own confetti (found a lovely cat shape cutter), but all the paper I've found so far has a white backing. Do any of you know where I can get paper/plastic sort of stuff that's coloured/metallic on both sides??

Ideally, I want it to look reasonably like proper table sprinkle stuff and not just shapes I've cut out of random coloured bits of paper (if you get my meaning).

I have found cat confetti, but it's pink, which would be OK if I could mix it in with some blue, but I can't find any that's blue!!

    Anyway, enough of my wittering!!
