LilDevil's Wedding Diary

Just spent ages typing this and pressed the wrong button and lost it all, so have to start again.

Things going well so far - OH thinks I'm getting a bit carried away with looking at stuff - he thinks we've got plenty of time (is that typical for men??!!)!!

So far we've (OK, I've):

Booked Venue = £600 (whole day)
Booked Registrar = £350 approx (going up next year so not 100% sure)
Booked Music = £400 (my mate!)

Haven't included Wedding Breakfast/Evening Buffet costs as this will depend on what the guests choose, but we're looking at around £2150.

Now have to go to the bank to withdraw savings and put in current account so that I can pay the deposit over the phone!

Other stuff bought so far:

Silver sixpences x 6 = £0 (OK, £15ish, but bought through Ebay with funds from stuff I've sold)
Name place holders x 36 = £0 (£18-£19, again through Ebay)

I already know what dress I want (asapbay).

I can get french manicure/hair/makeup done through the venue for £50 (I think it's a bargain!!) and may also get flowers through them as well.

I have also discovered that confetti.co.uk and withlovefrom.com are on Quidcos list so will try and get as much stuff through them (and Ebay!) as possible to maximise cashback. I may also investigate if other sites are registered with other cashback sites

£50 is a bargain, my hair alone is costing £30 and all I'm not even having it up now! My sisters doing my nails and makeup... She might get my hair too if I don't think the hairdresser is worth the money after the practise!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • I might go to debenhams the day before they do nice quick and easy manicures for £10 i didnt think that was too bad...
    Anyone else??

... spoke to photographer that done my sisters wedding last night and it's gonna cost the best part of £1000 for the whole day. I know in the grand scheme of wedding photographers, it's quite good, but this is a lot of money for us. CD Copyright version will be £995 just for the ceremony, going up to £1095 for the full day.

    OH is not impressed!!

Good idea about going to debenhams/boots for a cheapy manicure the day before - will tell my sister (maid of honour) in case she can't get the bridal package (she's hoping that she can) as well!!

I would ask on here about photographers in your area.....I know that in the NW it can be several £100's cheaper that that quote.

Good idea! Was also gonna do a search to see if the Uni does photography degrees, so that I can ask about there too (not too sure about evening classes as I'm not sure if they are just keen amateurs or looking to go professional!)

This is the dress that I want!!

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Wedding-Dresses-Bridal-Gowns-Prom-Gowns-all-size_W0QQitemZ360043293753QQihZ023QQcategoryZ91248QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

She's already told me that as long as I keep a copy of the pic and the item number, there should be no problems!

    I really liked this one:

But again, they can do it in any colour (I don't think the venue has napkins etc in that shade of blue, which is a shame!)

Just a quick thought for you. Make sure you save the ebay picture and item number to your computer, as after a few months the ebay item is lost from the ebay website. I don't know when you are ordering your dress, but I would hate for you to not be able to access the picture.

Sorry if you already realised this, and good luck with planning!

That dress is gorgeous lil, I was looking at one with similar sleeves. Like the bridesmaid dress too, it's similar to the one my MOH was looking at but she's gone for one from a different seller, it's still in China so fingers crossed it appears!

I've heard nothing but good reports about this seller (there's a thread on here somewhere about Ebay wedding dresses!), so feeling quite confident, I'll probably order sometime in Jan/Feb, so it gives plenty of time for a back up!!!
