Don't try and sell "coal tits" on ebay

Nope, can't see it either, sorry
I had a similar problem with some aviation magazines I was selling a few months back - 10 day listing - something like 17 views in first 2 days, then NOTHING until day 9 when the bids started going up again - and when I searched during this time I couldn't find the mags either
I'm having one last clear out on eBay before going on holiday/the new feedback rules come in - for me it's really not worth bothering anymore! I've been fortunate to make about £2500 over three years selling my old bits and pieces so I can't complain reallyDFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :TDAVID TENNANT CAN PROBE ME WITH HIS SONIC SCREWDRIVER ANYTIME...:AFLYING THE FLAG FOR THE CAMBRIDGE BOOTS TARTS :happyhear0 -

Try doing a search by Item Number, and search by "Location of Item".

This will tell you the category and page number it should appear on.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Update -
I've been missing since late afternoon. Got back to an email from ebay.
Apparently they had tried to ring but I wasn't available.
Turns out I had taken the word "tits" out of the title but not out of the write up.
They explained that their automated system removes items with the word "tits" in it, without notification. It only recognizes the characters, not their context.
They have given me a credit for both listings.
As the 2nd listing was still live, even if no one could see it. I amended it and guess what?
You can see it now.
Hopefully it will stay that way until the end.
I'd like to know which other words get blocked "without notification", especially ones with more than one meaning.
As for viability, it looks like things are back to normal or possibly better than normal.
I've now got slightly more bids on things than usual0 -
That is truly bizarre. Tits is a perfectly valid word, and not even that offensive as a rude one
P.S. It looks like 'tit' is allowed, if that helps.

Glad to see ebay's super-duper filters stop rude stuff... oh wait

Yes I'm seeing it now too by typing in "magnolia birds".
Just a tip for you re the words "tits" in the main ad body. If you really want the word in the description open up MS Paint or any photo editing software you've got and create a small image by using the text editor part of the pic/paint program. All you need to do is draw a small rectangle and type "tits" inside it in the same font and size you use on your listings, change the background colour to whatever you use on your listings and save the image. Upload the image to your pic hosting site (photobucket/imageshack etc) and then insert the pic in your listing where you want the word "tits" and voila!
Your listing would then read Magnolia & Coal Tits, but as the "tits" bit is actually a blank image file with the word "tits" embedded in it, Ebay bots won't be able to read it because it's an image and not text. Does that make any sense?
It's actually an old-age trick for people with their own websites for when they want to include a contact email address. If you just type your email address as text then you're guaranteed to get shed loads of spam mail from the spam bots that trawl websites looking for such things, whereas if you make a small image file and embed your email address into it you'll get no spam whatsoever!

Not that many - 44 at the moment.
I asked ebay if there was a list of forbidden words.
I got a standard reply back -
"Please understand that we will not be able to give you the list of words which have more than one meaning or can be used in a different context as these words are detected by the system." it then went on to tell me how to submit a suggestion.
If anyone else comes across a word you can't use, I'd like to know.
I tried a few obvious ones and you can have !!!! ups and fighting cocks.
Boob tubes are OK and while checking I discovered you can even buy juggling boobs, whatever they are.
....as someone else said you can have one tit even if you can't have several.
If you find any more please add it to the list, bearing in mind that I'm only interested in words that could be used by accident, in an innocent context.
I didn't want this thread pulled as well.0
