Don't try and sell "coal tits" on ebay

I have a beautiful Wentworth jigsaw of two coal tits in a magnolia tree.
I listed it on ebay a week ago, on a ten day listing, with the title - Magnolia & Coal Tits: 250 Piece Wentworth Wooden Jigsaw - and just left it there.
Wentworth jigsaws always sell.
Last night I got round to checking many watchers it had - none.
Now that aint right, by then I expected at least 10, so I had a look at the listing and there were only 4 views (the usual automated ones).
I then did several searches.
It didn't show up in any. Not under any of it's title words, not in it's section, not even viewable in my ebay shop.
I could only find it by typing in the item number or by using the clickable link in the listing confirmation email.
I took the listing down, after saying several not very nice words about ebay.
Changed the words "coal tits" to birds and put a new listing up. I didn't use the relist so their automated systems wouldn't connected the two listings.
It didn't show up either.
I have talked to their help dept this morning and they are looking into it....
Since then I've tried searching for coal tits and blue tits.
I can find "a tit" but no "tits" :-(
Something that may or may not be connected -
My sales have dropped in the last week.
Almost everything I've sold either had a bid on it before the jigsaw was listed the first time or it sold to a regular customer. Ones that regularly check my shop.
Looking at the current bids/winning bidders (the same thing as they are all minimum bid winners), all but one are past customers.
Called me paranoid but I don't think it's just DSRs and visibility sellers have to worry about.
Plus they have taken two lots of listing fees off me for the privilege of reducing my listing's visibility.
In the past I have had listings they didn't like and ebay pulled them, but at least I got my listing fees back.
This way ie no visibility at all - they keep the listing fees and you have no chance of getting a buyer.

How long did you wait? Some listings take a day or two to show up properly.
Some ebayers believe that their listings are only visible in a certain area at any one time - suggested by a lot of sales in one area. Ebay deny it, but local internet hardware may also play a part in the phenomenon. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

The "rolling blackout" conspiracy... well worth spending a bit of time on Google about this, and it is now pretty much proven with hard evidence, yet eBay still deny it happens.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Seven days for the 1st one.
10 hours for the 2nd.
I'm a silver powerseller so I got to speak to an actual ebay employee this morning.
He agrees the 2nd listing is not showing up. He couldn't check about the first as I had taken it down.
He said he needed to past the info on to the technical dept and he has promised to ring me back. If he does and I learn any more, I'll let you know.
He also let slip "they'll have to look at your DSRs" and that was before I mentioned my lack of bids. When I quired it having an effect on visibility he was none committal.0 -
I have had auctions that have done this. Sometimes a search would find them other times not but a different search would

See if you can find it
The title is -
MAGNOLIA & BIRDS: 250 Piece Wentworth Wooden Jigsaw
It's listed under Toys & Games > Jigsaws & Puzzles > Jigsaws > 101-250 Pieces
It's view count is now 7, so 2 people apart from me and the guy on ebay's helpline have looked at it.
I've just checked and it's still not showing up in my shop

Interesting reading.
Don't know about blackouts but I do tend to get blocks of bids/buyers from the same areas or the same ISPs. Though the ISP thing isn't as pronounced as it used to be.0 -
I can't see it anywhere0

Oh how strange, this is the first I've heard of this but I have definately noticed that lately almost all of my items have gone to the same area- Essex
Did a search and I can't see it either.0
