Hi, i have found out today my JSE has been cancelled due to me resigning from my previous job. As nobody informed me, i had been relying on todays money. Hence now i have 6p left in my bank account. I have about £60 due to be paid out today, and more importantly, i have no food in my house whatsoever. I have already borrowed from those available and there is zero chance of an overdraft extension from my bank.
As you can see i am in a bit of a pickle this morning. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks

Phone up the JSA phone line and talk to them about it - see what they can do about it. Explain to them why you resigned from your job, etc...
~MCMySearchFund: £9.79:j
CC Debt: £400 -=-=- Overdraft: £150

They know everything, thats why they stopped it. I was on the phone to them earlier. They didnt feel my reasons were genuine and obviously thought i enjoy getting by on next to nothing.0 -
Hi,
Unfortunately, your problem is out of remit of this board and I'm moving it to the benefits board where there are specialist advisors.0 -
You could ask for a crisis loan, you must be entilted to income support now tho....

If your parent is not responsible for you, then surely you can get something from them........

You will be able to claim a hardship payment due to your JSA being suspended. This is 80% or 60% of the full amount depending on your circumstances. It will not be payable for the first two weeks of your claim unless you have a child/ are pregnant/ are disabled.Gone ... or have I?0

If the £60 you're paying out tomorrow is direct debits, phone up and cancel them NOW so you're not stung with bank charges as well. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

Yeh they are sending me a form about that but i am more worried about what to do in the meantime. I have nobody to borrow from and i cant think of how to get some cash today, which i am in desperate need of.
I have applied to about 20 jobs in the last month, so am waiting on that but even then it takes a month to get paid. Although i dont have much, eBay takes a week to sell, and then 5 days for paypal to clear.
Any ideas about quick money is what i am after, if anyone is able to advise?0 -

My local authority have a leaflet which gives details of free food available from charities and the like. There are several such places every day. Give your council a ring or visit and this will help in the short-term.
good luck
