Wedding dress advice

Evening all,

I'm getting married this year in a small non-fussy affair. I'm not really a big white frock kind of girl so thought I'd buy a nice cocktail dress, something a bit special without it being a wedding dress. Not wanting to spend a fortune, just wondering if anyone else had done the non-wedding frock thing and where they had gone shopping?

Thanks, Lorna
Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:

Didn't think of coast at all - thanks for that. Did you go for white or a colour?

Loads of bridal shops are now doing prom dresses, might be worth having a look, although my sister tried on a great mori lee dress that was green, with sparkles and a fish tail shaped body, then she found it on asapbay for half the price!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Didn't think of the bridal shops - too be honest have been avoiding them as I thought they'd be all white but I've got friends visiting this week so may pop in and have a look, thanks for the advice.

How did your sister get on ordering from asapbay? Bit worried about sizing and quality ordering from ebay?

I wanted something less formal than the normal wedding dress with a train so I had a floor length, strapless bridesmaids dress design made in ivory in a bridal shop for £189. It's elegant but understated which decribes what I wanted.

    GOOD LUCK

I got my dress from asapbay and its absolutely gorgeous. Several other brides on here have also done the same. She is very helpful and friendly and my dress fits perfectly. I also saved a fortune. If you pm me your email address I'll send you a couple of pics if you like.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
