Taskbar/windows stuck on classic view?

hmm ive just turned my pc on to find that the taskbar and window 'frames' have changed to classic/basic design? but when i go to desktop-properties-appearence -windows and buttons--it only gives me the option of "windows classic style" .How can i get back to the nice smooth edge xp style taskbar and windows??:confused:

    Right click on your start button and select properties and under the start menu tab are the options for start menu and classic start menu

    thanks for the tip;) but unfortunately that only changes the start menu, i need to change the task bar and the appearence of the actual windows that open up:huh:

    Change your theme and okay it, then change back. See if that helps.
    I take it you have rebooted your machine.

    ok , i tried changing theme and back again and the only thing that changed was the wallpaper.Ive rebooted twice and no joy either.Seems like a simple thing but i just cant figure this out lol:o

    Right click on the start button, select properties and on start menu select customise and reset to defaults. I would really have to see the problem to understand fully what your issue is. Would you be happy emailing me some screenshots?

    hmm did as you said but there is no option to reset defaults under the customize tab:confused: no probs to email you a screenshot just tell me how lol and pm your email, is it ok to send tomrrow as i got to goto work in 'mo? many thanks again for your time and help:beer:
