What ISP? - please not too technical

I am in NE Scotland, I currently have AOL and want to switch ISP.

I have checked Samknows Broadband and all we have is BT Wholesale ADSL and BT Wholesale ADSL max.

I would like speed up to 8 meg and unlimited d.loads.

Am I right in thinking that everything available to me is rubbish? That is how it appears when looking at the different recommended sites.

idnet office 2000 is one of the better, genuinely unlimited, services available to you, or perhaps entanet (vivaciti, adsl24 etc) £20 for 330Gb is more realistic?
