hmm, a biot worried about posting on here, as, for one, posts are getting a bit muddled between original post and a neighbour. and two, some replies, such as keep your nose out it isnt your business anymore dont sit right with me.
it is everyones business when it comes to benefit fraud, and, if you know someone is actually on a means tested benefit but have that much money set asid, then yes, it should be reported as fraud. it is taxpayers like you and me who suffer.
If you dont think your original call is being dealt with, you could always try phoning again, or phone your local DWP who can take some details and pass directly to the fraud department, however, you may not see the response you expect straight away, it can take a while to build up a fraud case, varous investigiations and surveilance may have to be done, so it may just be that investigations are under way at the momentThanks to all who post comps :T0 -
You can also report benefit fraud online.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked

I have corrected the confused post I wrote and apologised to the OP.
Surely though, you'd be more likely to post if you thought the information given was incorrect?
Most on here would agree with reporting benefit fraud, but every now and then a post pops up which describes all sorts if things, but not anything worth reporting. It is then pointed out that the poster needs to gather more convincing and objective evidence if they want the person dealt with.0 -
sorry bestspud, was referring mostly that the other comments about neighbours maybe should have had a thread of their own, as the posts seem to be referring to both comments, rather than the original post about the fraud, and reading through them was getting confusing (as i hope you can appreciate as i think you must have got as confused as me) and i didnt mean any offence.
but as far as original post goes, yes, benefit fraud should be reported, and if certain they are on means tested benefits but has 200k i think they should report it to DWPThanks to all who post comps :T0 -
Thanks for your comments, as I said the benefit is means tested.
I can't see that much 'investigation' was needed I had all the details of the savings, Still I've done my good deed & reported it, if I done it out of bitterness I'd have used my knowledge to get more money for my self.
I've sent a message to my MP, I don't feel there is anything else I can do.

Wearside, he is claiming a means tested benefit, he is still receiving it & is in the process of buying 3 properties abroad.
I would certainly recommend that you write to your MP. Believe me something WILL be done!!To Dare is To Do:beer:0 -

You seem to spend a lot of your time watching them and logging what time they go in / out and how long they are away for, where they go... How do you find time to work with all this surveilance? How do you pay your council tax?
excellent point !:j0 -
Hi
I have now seen my MP & reported the fraud, I think I now know why nothing has been or will be done, though he will do what he can. I feel I have done my 'duty' by reporting it, it is now in the lap of the gods.

Makes you thankful for good neighbours.
Some of my neighbours work, some don't but I can't think of many things worse than a neighbour who spends all their time spying and making assumptions.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
