Glass Dining Table Pros And Cons

HI,I am moving and really fancy a glass dining table but some people say it is dust magnet and finger prints are all over it, others say that it looks stylish and opens up the room, I want one that is clear not the frosted ones so now don't know whether to get one or not?
Any one got one? Recommend one? I have 2 kids so it has to be safe, rectangular, no sharp corners.

Glass topped tables look absolutely beautiful but can be an absolute nightmare for finger prints and dust. Considering this is a money saving website, I reckon you would spend a fortune on polish!!!!! Plus with kids - sticky mucky fingers could be a nightmare! I would love a glass topped table and I have no kids but would not get one because I think I would become either obsessive about cleaning it, or the other extreme and it would be filthy!!! Wood hides a multitude of sins!:heart2: Katie & Benjy - I'll meet you at Rainbow Bridge......:heart2:0

They do look great, as long as you wipe them down daily

I've got a fabulous designer 70's table which includes 3 glass circles that overlap... but I'm not a domestic goddess, and every weekend I go downstairs and think "ugh, the table's in a state again!", whereas I could always get away with it on wooden tables...
As long as you're happy to keep cleaning it, go for it! Use some Old Style polishing tips to keep your costs down

Toughened glass has a softer surface than annealed glass and is much easier to scratch !(glazier)0
