Is the Halifax 4 year Fixed @ 6.2% a good idea for someone who doesn't need access?

Hello.

I welcome a little advice...

I currently have 2 ISAs from previous year:

* £6500 at 5.76% in Kent & Reliance
* £3000 @ 5.3% in NS&I

Total= £9500

I'm looking to invest in a new cash ISA (£3600) for this year.

I don't need access to the total of £13100.

In this case, is the Halifax ISA (4year fixed at 6.2%) a good deal

or

is there a better split I can make of my ISAs into a combination of fixed and variable accounts?

Who can predict what's likely to happen to interest rates over a 4 year period?

I must admit that I have put this year's £3600 into the Halifax account but the bulk of my ISA funds are in a shorter term fixed rate product at the moment.

Nationwide's 1 & 2 year fixed rate ISA Bonds @ 6.15% are also worth looking at, shorter tie-in period which offers greater flexibility in the future and very little difference in interest rate.
