If Argos know it's a mistake why haven't they changed the website price then?

If payment has been taken, doesn't that actually form the contact regardless of what the site says ?
No - unfortunately we've been there before and the ball is in their court.
does anyone know the proper price anyway?
49p - it says so on their website where it says "Wow! Great value deal" :D:D

  • I ordered one but not hoping for anything. Can they take £299 instead of the £5.44?

no they cant as you have not authorised them to take that amount!!! if they do and send the tv, i will take it up with my bank like poster above said.

i dont understand how a misprice can happen for things like this, if the price was now 49.99 then i could understand them missing a 3 off but how does the programmer put in 0.49 and not notice!!!
  • They shouldn't be able to charge you the higher price, as you've only authorised a payment of £5.44. If they do contact people to say that the price was wrong and offer it at a higher price, they still can't charge the higher price without you agreeing. I reckon they'll just cancel all orders.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Were we not here a few years back with a Sony TV at 99p, again from Argos ? Seem to recall a 'hoo-hah' :D
  • their t&c's explicitly say if it is a pricing error they will contact you and offer you it for full price or you cancel. if they can't get hold of you they will automatically cancel.
