    Try downloading DivX player and see if that works. I think is probably just an update issue.

    can't find any updates for windows media player, so still no sound:confused:

    Downloaded DivX player, when you put in a dvd is it meant to start up straight away with DivX?...All I get is a screen to burn a dvd...

    Open WMP with a mute DVD. Go into Tools-->Options-->DVD tab-->Audio Options. Can you change between audio output types? - Dolby Digital, PCM, etc
