Yes because paypal consider all their payments to be instant, even when they are not. I've had this happen in the past and it was blooming infuriating especially as buyer had made a number of purchases over the day both before my item and afterwards and mine was the only one paypal converted to an echeque, grrr.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree that £150 is just too much to risk, but Paypal had a recent funny turn, issuing e-cheques for no reason, so it's possibly not the buyer's fault.
A seller I have bought from a few times said she'd had e-cheques from several buyers without their knowledge, and without any explanation. It seems to be back to instant payments again.0 -

Is that by clicking on 'issue refund' when I click on the details page of the echeque?
I have had someone with zero feedback pay by echeque, although he has been registered for some 18 months. He says he cannot cancel his end but I need to, is that right?
I didn't want to issue a refund and the cash be taken from my account.*Everybody wants prosthetic foreheads on their real heads*

Around Christmas about half my buyers were suddenly using e-cheques. I emailed giving the approx date of clearance and most of them didn't know why or how paypal had decided to use echeques instead of instant payment. don't understand.0

Buyer paid by echeque tonight feedback 100% 29 transactions. Wants me to post before cheque clears item was £150 would you
Your buyer has not had any feedback since December last year, has not won any other auctions in the last 30 apart from yours and a dodgy 99p BIN.
Don't fall for his pushing - as others have stated, if he want's them posted fast then he needs to change his payment method.Your = belongs to you
