Aaaaaarrrrrrgghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Lost posts/pms

Is there any way to avoid losing what you have written (either in a reply to a post or a pm) if you leave the page for whatever reason?

I had several windows open as I needed to refer to other pages and copy and paste urls, but I accidentally clicked the back button on my browser when my 'writing' page was active.

This meant of course that I lost loads of stuff I had just written and copied.

Is there any way round this?

I asked the resident expert about this very thing last week and sadly the post was lost for good


but maybe he will be able to come along and put a title in this thread

If I'm writing a long post I click 'Preview Post' every so often.

If you navigate away from the window by mistake then go back to it, you see most of your text in the box greyed out.

Pressing 'Preview Post again makes it editable again

If that makes sense.

I write most of my stuff in Word on the PC then copy & paste into the browser window when I've finished. Means you can do a spell check at the same time!
