Wildlife in our gardens

Don't know where else to put this, but wanted it somewhere in case anyone has a similar experience.
This morning we have found a dead kestrel in the garden. It had a mouse in its claws, so it looks like it misjudged its dive and hit the ground. Anyway, if you find a dead bird of prey, you are supposed to send them to the Predatory Bird Monitoring Scheme, where they will post mortem it and find out levels of toxins, insecticides etc. in its liver, and also check it for bird flu. They send you a pre-paid box for the bird (one of their centres is just up the road from us, so we are delivering it to them later) and apparently send you a copy of the post mortem - just in case you are interested in it!
Hope this helps someone. Amazing what you can find when you put "dead falcon" into Google!
ETA - actually I hope no-one does find a dead bird of prey in their garden, but you know what I mean!0 -
thank you, that's useful. Can't click your button as they're not showing for at present
We have owls and a sparrowhawk that comes into our garden but we've not found one dead though.0
