Contract ending, new to the UK
Hi All,
I approaching the end of my contract with '3' in May.
Will i need to call/write to them to terminate the contract?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but i was reading the threads and saw some people were writing to terminate their 'O2' contracts and was puzzled.
Also, are the e2save.com 12 month free contracts safe to go with? I've noticed they've disappeared, does anyone know when they will be back?
Thanks in advance,
Toothy

You just need to call 3 on 333 and cancel.0 -

Yes - you are not approaching the "end of your contract" per se, merely the end of the minimum term. The contract will continue until you terminate it.
You generally don't need to write, but be careful to ensure that you're fully understood and they confirm that your contract is going to be cancelled. Normally this happens pretty straightforwardly through the whole number porting process - by asking for your PAC (port authorisation code which you give to the new network so you can keep your number) which is valid for 30 days you're deemed to be giving your notice, and you can be sure that your line is ceased once the port goes through.
Some people write for cancellation because it's easier than having to put up with the network's retentions department trying to convince you to stay. Also, are the e2save.com 12 month free contracts safe to go with? I've noticed they've disappeared, does anyone know when they will be back?
There are plenty of threads about e2save about here. Read them and then make your decision. For example http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=226689 - people seem to be having problems of late, and it'll certainly require discipline and persistence.
No idea if/when they'll be back - someone said e2save told them they wouldn't, but who knows if that's true or not.0 -
They never went. But sometimes only if you know how. "Truth" isn't in E2Save's dictionery.0
