I've just knocked loads of money from my renewal quote. I was just looking at the Alliance and Leicester website and they have an offer on where they will beat your renewal quote or give you a years free insurance. My best quote on confused.com was £545 and A&L have got it down to £515. I went on again and put in their £515 as my latest quote and it came out lower again at £496. Give it a try people.

You won't get it for 496 - their 515 quote was not a renewal
  • what about this thing of adding another driver who has more experience to reduce the premium? has anyone done this whether the other person will drive the car or not ?

I did that with my husband. Mine came down about £50 per year, he doesn't drive it really as he has his own car but its always useful in case he has too (i may fancy a drink lol)

Also, the area in which you live has an effect on your quote. When i lived in a village in Staffordshire my insurance was quite reasonable, but when i moved to Dudley

To be honest your quote is good, i'm 29 with 2 years ncb driving a Bravo 1.4 and i've been paying in excess of £400 (i had a claim 2 years ago) my best quote this year is £235 :j thats with the post office and a £50 cash back once the policy is up and running. I know where i'll be heading at renewal time :rotfl:
