The last time I saw this posted on these boards. I emailed Alienware. They replied to me today.
They told me that they are aware of this scam and are investigating further. They also told me that the only way to legitimately purchase an Alienware computer is through there website or their freephone number.
If you see these free Alienware deals advertised on the net. Ignore them. They are nothing to do with the company.
Eh ??
I just bought an alienware computer direct from their website .. Though not aware of any scams ???
I have to say its a damn fine beast of a machine - cost me £2k ! just for the base unit though ! But does the job !0 -

lol......I think you've had a bit of a misunderstanding. Alienware are a reputable company that make very good computers.
There have been a few postings on these boards for a site that offers free Alienware computers. This is a pyramid scheme, and is nothing to do with the company.
It's this free Alieanware site that is the scam. This was confirmed after I contacted Alienware and received a reply from them. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Yes we're just full of misunderstandings here - Rex thinks that proof means finding someone to agree with you rather than actually providing proof that what you say is true.
A couple of extra questions for you to ignore as you have all the rest:
1. Why is there no warning on the Alienware Website if they are trying to get it stopped? Theres not even a press release about the other site
2. Is the offer currently being investigated by any independant body? (Like the police, Department of Trade and Industry or Trading Standards?)
its all well and good to claim that something is a scam, but when asked for proof you've provided none.0 -
***Note from Board Guide: Ok folks, locking this thread now. This is the Warnings Board, the original post contained a warning and was posted in good faith. The site rules are quite clear about what is and what is not allowed with regard to various possible schemes and scams and this thread is not the place for arguments about the rights and wrongs.***Herman - MP for all!0
