Hello
I am currently with Talk Talk. I was thinking of moving to Sky broadband. I really wanted to know how to this since they are unbundled. I know I have to connect back to BT but what is really putting me off is the idea that Sky say I must have a BT landline before they do anything and that it takes them 5 days to process. I really need my broadband because of work but the speed and service is awful from Talk Talk - what should I do?? anyone?

Well for your information if you do decide to go back with BT you'll be subjected to a 12 month contract with them, if you want to leave then cancellation charges will apply.
Have you raised a fault issue with Talk Talk for the slow speed? They can investigate for you on your behalf to try & get it sorted.0 -
Apparently MAC codes help prevent interruption - but since I will be disconnecting both line and broadband does that apply in my situation?0

MAC will not help in this instance as you will need to get the line back to BT first, once it is back with BT and on the database properly you can then order your BB. If you need a BB connection for work then you shouldn't be relying on a residential connection but if you must use your residential connection then you will have to put up with hte fact it will be down at least a week while it is switched over to a new provider.0

if the connection is absolutely necessary for work, get a 2nd line, get sky connected to it, then cancel the 1st lineUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

 a mate of mine recently left T.T and took the Sky package, (she had to get her line back first with BT before Sky would entertain her) she had a nightmare, the idea of getting a 2nd line sounds good, I don't know if this helps but Sky are now offering line rental, I think if you go with Sky they should deal with the change over as I said my mate had BIG problems with BT & the changeover. Good Luck

Isn't that going to mean getting a new number, or will they transfer the number from the old line to the new line?I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -
If you take a Sky Talk and Sky broadband package, Sky are paying BT's install fee, though currently only to the end of May.
Keep line rental with BT, don't move line rental to Sky, otherwise BT will charge you £70 for cutting short the 12 month contract, plus it's better to have BT line as Sky are charging to high prices on some calls, and with a BT line you can place calls back on them, even if calls usually automatically go via Sky.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
