Hope it all goes well at the vets.

that what are vet has said before about our rats. hope all goes well for you at the vets keep us updated xxx

our vet is fantastic and he has a small animal rate as well, i think its only £6 + vat for the consultation.
another local vet charges all animals the same so £30 for a consulatation:eek:

since i have told people what our long standing vet charges they have switched to him, so the local vet is losing out, as my best friend has 1 x dog, 3 x cats and 2 rabbits!!!

Hope all goes well Jvic, and sorry I didn't answer your question earlier... But with my lady she has 2 tumours and is very old (3 now!) so removal for her would just increase her suffering... She is still happy and can still get around her cage, it's been about 6 months since they first appeared so she's doing well... And if it ever reached a point where I thought she was not coping very well then we would be straight back to the vet to be put to sleep....

Thanks Crystal. I'm thinking I probably won't get the tumour removed. How big are the tumours on yours. Mine's like a chestnut size, I hope it doesn't get bigger. Do the tumours cause any pain? I know I'm gonna ask the vet all these q's this afternoon but I like being armed.

How did you get on with the vet Jvic?

Sadly my Ratty died this evening... But I know that she was still happy bumbling round her cage this evening while I was cooking tea, she just went quietly before we went to bed... I'm glad she wasn't suffering...

I am so so sorry to hear that. I hope you are ok. I guess the fact that she was happy till the end and went peacefully in her sleep was a lot easier than having to make the decision for her.

I'm so sorry Krystal. At least she was happy though, I hope mine goes the same.

I took her to the vet last night who confirmed it was a tumour. They charge £90 for a tumour removal but obviously there's a chance of another tumour coming back so at the moment we're just going to leave it. It's not bothering her in the slightest at the moment and hopefully she'll have a full + happy life like Krystals rattie. Still gutted though.
