LOL don't worry - they are all common symptoms

I've caught them myself infact! (Obviously!) My OH sometimes has to take me by the hand and make me go spend money... seriously! I get so in the MSE zone I can't bring myself to go buy stuff that isn't 100% necessary if it's for me... Not unless it's bought with vouchers I have got for free through something lol
But yesterday we spent about £40 on games (we DID buy preowned and got 3 x-box 360 games for that!!! as we had £14 giftcard from trading in a game lol).
Oh well no doubt one day I'll be a normal person - not an overspender and not a tightfisted miser
Maybe... :rtofl: DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
You know what
I wouldnt even bother trying to fight it
Once you're in its like some wierd cult
'Cept we're not wierd
And we're not a cult
More of a large family
That you worry about confessing that £80 you spent on games and clothes last night
They are nice jeans though
And I never buy myself anything
And the game means I dont have to speak to miserable bollox
OH keeps telling me this is a cult too..... He's just jealous! If he could be bothered to log on and look, he might actually enjoy it!
MSE is addictive, I am logged on most days, even if its just to lurk/catch up...'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -

Addiction support group, Friday night, bring some booze!
Only problem is,you get really cross with yourself when you don't make the most of something, which isn't healthy. i recently researched a better car insurance deal, but I was too busy to change over before my renewal,
I AM SO ANNOYED WITH MYSELF
note to oneself, forgive and move on
Yup, Just done the same thing!!0 -
My name is Horace and I am glad to be an addict.
I visit the forum several times a day and use it for advice, free stuff (there have been some great freebies and then some not so great), getting ideas for presents - over Christmas we had a chat about hampers (called Finished Baskets) and now my mates all have hampers filled with free stuff:j The make £10 a day challenge is also good and I am gradually learning to make free money to help me from sliding into more debt (I have a bit, not a lot).
Being addicted to MSE is cheaper than been addicted to drugs, booze or whatever your poison is:rotfl:
They want me to go to Rehab and I said No No No!Semper in faeces profundum variat

Love it! Love it! Love it! :smileyhea
This site is my salvation - it's like the question "where were we before mobile phones", well I constantly ask myself "where was I before MSE"
Because of this site and getting to know about quidco, have saved £100 off my car insurance through cashback and instead of paying £291 as per renewal and normally would have just renewed, no, I shopped around and got it for £208 and with the cashback have brought this down to £108 - nearly £200 saving - yippee!!:j :jWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
This site is destroying my study planner - totally hooked. I am currently doing a database administrator course (microsoft certified) which can potentially give me upto £10K payrise when completed. Yet I spend hrs each day finding out ways to save and budget my money better. Is this not ironic? Giving myself a £10K payrise sooner should in theory outweigh any more savings/budgeting tips I may pick up from this site.
I have already taken steps by installing another operating system (windows server 2003) with no internet connection on my laptop to carry out my studies. Yet I always end up logging on the operating system (windows XP) with internet connection just to visit this site.
Please help! my fellow MSE - How can I overcome this addiction
and finish my course earlier 0 -
Me too .... I moved abroad for a year and this is a nice lifeline to what's going on back home.....

Although I'd known about the MSE site for quite a while and have had the weekly e-mails for about a year now I'd never tried the forum until a few weeks back.
What a great bunch of people on here, and I've learnt so much. I've also felt a lot happier now knowing I'm not alone.0
