  • After a nasty experience with a buyer from Holland who did not know and refused to accept the difference between verified and confirmed addresses, I restrict my auctions to UK, USA and Canada. If someone from Europe etc pays with PayPal and I refund them, the neg I get won't count. I will not take any chance with PayPal and only ship to confirmed addresses, they are taking a hefty 3.4% fee so need to sort out this confirmed/unconfirmed business if they make PP compulsory on all auctions (of course if you are a Powerseller you are covered but they don't give a stuff about us small fry anymore). Try moneybookers they also offer a good escrow service and avoid rip off PayPal fees. If you ship to an unconfirmed PayPal address and things go wrong you lose your item, postage costs and a possible £7 chargeback fee with no comeback whatsoever:naughty:

We mustn't forget though that all the powersellers and people selling to that level now have fully protected paypal payments, it is only us smaller selllers that are still on the old rules regarding chargebacks.

I know the rules are complicated and it isn't quite as good as it sounds even for powersellers, but the very fact that there are now two levels of seller protection rather riles me.

I feel bad as this German bidder has 100% feedback on over 800 items, she has agreed to pay by bank transfer...
