What does the stop code say is the problem? And what O/S are you installing?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Are you installing Windows XP service Pack 0, 1 or 2? If the hardware is new and you are using anything before Service pack 2 you may have to slip stream SP 2 with your old version of XP install disk. I have seen this problem before and the slipstream sorted it, or use a SP 2 Install disk.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? Ok now Ive got five minutes spare...
Its a new system with a clean install. Everything seems ok with the boot as far as the installation. It was getting part or half way through and stopping, even with Ubuntu. We tried two 160g SATA drives and still the same. We tried setting the BIOS with RAID and without, we set the BIOS to failsafe and and with what I thought was the right configuration.
Everything seems in order untill we actually install the OS, thats when the problems start.
We did eventually get Windows installed but the mouse and keyboard failed, also during istallation the OS kept popping up Windows logo testing for each device installed on the system.
This is a new one on me....To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
If it is failing with ubuntu as well I would suggest that one of your components is faulty. Take everything out and reseat it all first.0
