This is only for lining up satellitte dishes, i have one thats similar and it works really well, be impossiblle to line a dish without one, so a must if you gonna install yourself.
I got one to and I think it's the same as the lidls one.The only difference is mine and probably yours was not £3.99.I think mine was nearer £25.00.DOH!!sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0 -
How can i go about getting the "Irdeto 2" encrypted uk asian channels on hotbird? will i need to buy a different reciever ( can anyone recoomend a cheap alternative) and do i need to purchase an annual subscrition card( cam is what i presume they are called) to decrpyted the channels or can i get a reciever where i type in the keys?
Basically want to find a low cost way of decrypting a few select channels or would a more expensive receiver be worthwhile in the long run .0 -
Hi Peter,
I run my aerial & satellite business and can confirm that the meter you mentioned is ok but.....it will find ANY satellite in the sky.Unlike the pro meter which we use which will find a particular bird i.e. sky digital or hotbird etc.
You may find it better to get a local pro out to line your dish up as these cheaper meters can be quite frustrating.Onwards and Upwards0 -
Even before this set has gone on sale at Lidl, there are a few on up on Ebay. One has attracted a bid of £73 with delivery on top of that at £19.99, while another has a starting price of £99.99 and delivery of £40 although 'Personal delivery is possible within the London / Greater London area for a nominal charge of £25.00', so that's okay then.
On the subject of the gear available at Lidl itself, by all accounts the LNB at £3.99 is very good value and the 80cm dish (which would need an LNB) is a very good price at £14.99 as well.

Cpmpleate fully motorised system under ?200 comprising fortecstar lifetime receiver 85cm solid dish add £10 for 1m (type upgrade to 1m in special instructions section of order form) .4db universal lnb diseqc motor wall mount cable, clips, bolts ect complete fta system

How much also would it be for an engineer roughly to install. And how many channels can you pick up with the motorised dishes. Thanks guys for your help0 -

I would try and get a Technomate tm1500ci receiver instead of the Fortec.
The Technomate has a card reader and is patchable to receive extra channels without any subscription that a Free-to-Air machine will not receive.
You really need a 90cm dish minimum for motorised reception, as some satellites have a weaker signal, and a larger dish is needed. 90cm is allowed without extra planning permission, but you could go to 1m if you have good neighbours.
Installation will cost about £100 to £150 depending where you live, but you could easily do this yourself if you know someone with a satellite meter.0 -
Thanks for your reply
So if i go for this then i need to buy a 1m dish and a motor as well. Is there anythign else i need to buy.
Roughly how many channels can you pick up with this receiver.0
