NW fixed rate isa

I took my application form to my local branch to open a NW fixed 2 yrs bond 2 weeks ago. I filled on the form that the money should be transferred from my invest direct to the new fixed rate isa. I checked my online banking and no money has been taken from my invest direct. Went to my local branch who told me to phone CS which I did and was informed that there was no record of my application and I should have phoned invest direct first as it is a postal service to allow the transfer. I am very confused if this was the case why I was not informed of this when I took my form. I was also asked to reapply which means I am going to lose two weeks of interest through no fault of mine. Has this ever happened to anybody? I am going t complain in my local branch on Monday? I want to know what happened to the form I have previously filled. Thanks

Hope it wasn't your 2007/08 ISA allowance.
