Reputable electric shower brand?

I have a two showers from Daryl - they are marvellous, and see my experience when one of them developed a fault. Entirely different price range to Mira/Triton - but worth every penny, IMHO. No more new shower units every so often.........

Check out eBay for deals on showers!
Also, if you haven't got one already, and unless you live in one of the few soft water areas, consider investing in a watersoftener. It's brilliant if you don't have to worry about clogged up showerheads and those nasty white stains around taps etc. I am the very happy owner of a Kinetico watersoftener - but ask your local water supplier for a recommendation, they usually have reputable local supplier names.0 -
My redring has been in use daily (and more!) for must be nine years!
No complaints here!0 -
I would reccommend the Mira Advance which has a thermostat which keeps the temperature constant. The cheaper electric showers do not have this feature. I bought my one from plumbworld.co.uk. My one cost £180 new few years ago.
Apart from fact that that I broke it (my fault not shower) before it was installed. Mira came and fixed it for free mind you. Has not broken down either.
You can buy a cheap maintenance contract for it as well.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
recently replaced a broken triton with a £40 shower from Wickes - aquatronic chosen because the bits were in roughly the right place to fit onto the old connections.
when opened its a rebranded triton - triton stickers inside, what a bargin (and very hot too No 3 is more than warm enough)Ready to Go Go!0 -
That's not strictly true.droid1978 wrote:I would reccommend the Mira Advance which has a thermostat which keeps the temperature constant. The cheaper electric showers do not have this feature.
Most showers built these days for the european market, are temperature controlled.
This is a safety issue covered by the kite marks to name but one.
I'm sure an electric shower built in the UK will meet all safety legislation no matter how much it costs.
