Reputable electric shower brand?

As our new bathroom progresses I am now at a point to think about an electric shower. My hoppo is a sparky and will be fitting it - he recommends I get a 9.8kw model. I was at the plumbing centre staring at a Mira Sport 9.8kw in the week. I might've bought it until a trade plumber walked past and said "Mira - yeah used to be good." So I was put off temporarily and thought I'd ask here - what are good reliable makes/models for electric showers off the water main? Or what ones to avoid?
Thanks,
Crankup

We have a gainsbrough and its been brillant.
  • Hi

    I'm a plumber...avoid Gainsborough at all costs!

Mira Sport is the best shower out there and has been for the last 15 Years. It only has a 12 Month warrentie though, but should anything go wrong, Mira themselves come out and sort the problem.

Redring showers are reliable ( if a little dated in looks) and have a 3 Year warrentie.

Then Triton showers which are ok and are very good value for money...homebase and Argos being the place to buy.

https://www.plumbworld.co.uk also a good priced site

    Hope that helped

    Have a look in Aldi.

They have this shower called Galaxy...I think it's a 9.5kw.
£49.99 with a 2 year warranty. Option to extend the warranty.

it's made by Dimplex...a UK company.

Looks very good for the money !. You could probably get 2 or 3 for the price of a mira sport...which is a bit overpriced for what it does !

Try Wickes (diy store) for their showers - they are rebadged Triton showers (take one apart and it has triton stickers in it) and cheaper than their 'branded' equivalent models.
