MMMM. Sounds delicious. Being veggie I haven't had this since I was a kid and stupidly had never thought of making it with veggie sausages - I will now!! Thankyou.0

Chop the sauages in half (or use cocktail sausages) and then do them like yorkshire puds in a muffin tin.
Great for serving to kids as there's no arguements about who got more.
I was just going to reccomend this, I do mine with wee willie winkies but I cook them and chop them first, but I like my yorkies to rise I find that bigger toad in the holes can be a bit too omlettey for my taste so it's always the wee ones I do, I also load yorkies with chopped (prefried)mushrooms and garlic and crispy bacon and garlic and they're yummy!HTH0 -

Same here, well in that for the amount I make I just use 4 heaped tablespoons of flour, I use two eggs, milk and water. Good mix like you say.
On sunday gone I decided to try my muffin tins to make yorkshires and honestly they were out of this world, ive never seen my yorkshires rise like they did, so from now on im using muffin tins0 -

I'm pretty sure there's a Jamie Oliver recipe for Toad in the Hole that uses a loaf tin, so you might be alright just using the tin you've got.Debt @ 22/11/07 = £11,038.74

wonder if anyone can help me? I was going to make a toad in the hole last night with veg and mash so i browned off the sausages, and peeled carrots and potatoes ready...... then went to make the batter and realised didnt have any eggs! so had to do soemthing complety different for dinner. My question is, would the potatoes and carrots be alright to use 2night? and could i re-heat the sausage in the toad in the hole 2night, as I now have eggs! instead of throwing it all away0

I would go for an easier option of sausage sarnies on big chunks of bread served with a potato salad with the carrot grated in...

Hiya,
Yes, I would happily use it all for tonight's tea.
I sometimes do this first thing in the morning so it's less of a rush in the evening.

Hi :hello:
I agree I usually get everything ready the night before to save time, and we've had no problems.

The food will be fine but why didn't you just serve the stuff you'd already prepared but with something like gravy or cheese sauce? What was the point of making something completely different?0

Because I didnt know if i could re-heat the sausages0
