I simply put the sausages with onion in a ceramic dish at a high heat, then pop into a hot oven, when they are nice and brown and the fat is smoking I pour on the batter.0

I've got a Toad-in-the-hole phobia. The thought of it makes me shudder and I feel really nauseous. :eek:TL0

I use a pancake mix and always cook it in a loaf tin. I put the oil in the loaf tin and put it in the oven for 5 mins to heat up, then put the sausages in for 10 mins. Then VERY quickly pour in the batter and put it in the oven for about 20-25 mins on a 220 degree oven.
It always rises!0 -
I cook the sausages for around 10 minutes, then put them on a hot hob to keep the fat very hot, when the fat starts to smoke I pour over the batter and quickly return to the oven.DFD 2020
