Best contract for a texter?
My daughter is looking for a Nokia 6230i on a contract. She mainly uses her phone for texting and her budget is circa £20.00 a month.
She's trying to talk me into a contract with 02 .... £19.99 a month.....Free phone, and includes 500 free texts and 50 free minutes.
Does anyone know if there's a better deal out there for a texter rather than a talker?
Thanks,
Pink

You could always get an O2 pay as you go online. Get 300 sms free each month as long as you top up £9.99 Than can have the 02 Active plug in which give you 6MB of GPRS in total (1MB included in your plan, 5mb in the bolton) can use http://www.smsbug.com/ to send the rest of the messages.0

Add the cost of the 6230 handset on top of that simcard^^ and you may aswell have gone for the £20 o2 contract, at least then in 12months time when the phone is 'out of fashion' she can get a newer model!
Yes o2 are the best for texters BUT if she is a student and has an NUS card- orange do 125mins and 1000 texts a month for £25?0 -

I was assuming the daughter was under 18 hence could not have a contract on her own. and I was thinking more on the lines of protecting the O/P against high bills if she gets carried away which can easily happen. And about the handset good point I was half asleep when I posted but to the O/P does it have to be a Nokia 6230? can always buy it simfree. Anyway as TheDot said if she is over 18 and a student, she can goto Orange and get it there. But it will be in her name than. Or get it at O2 as well.0
