My son bought a wireless adaptor for his x box 360, he cannot get it connected. We are with virgin.net, it was the WPA key he sorted that out and it still does not work, could someone pm me who has done it or let me know what please we can do to get him back upstairs into his bedroom rather than here in the living room right next to the wireless broadband connection although it is not strictly speaking wireless as it has to be connected into the back of the tower.
We can't be anymore specific as to why it is not working because we have no idea whatsoever on how to get it to work, went on youtube, asked game shop they said they had an ethern wire to their bedrooms.
Please any help would be greatly appreciated, he has to go back upstairs:rotfl: :rotfl:
Please could you remember to speak in idiot language so we simpletons can follow it:rotfl:

Yes it does. I'm using mine with WPA2.0

I purchased a gaming adaptor instead of the wireless adaptor for my xbox, not only is it much cheaper it is easier to troubleshoot. WPA is definately supported. Have you setup MAC filtering on your router?0

OP what you need to do is plug the usb adapter into 1 of the front usb ports and go to network settings and test connection(i think its xbox LIVE connection) it should run through some tests,

Have you tried turning off the security on your router to see if the xbox live works then? I cannot see the DG834GSP on the compatable list so it might be worth contacting netgear. Also follow this from the xbox site. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/connectionmethods/webconnectivitywizard.htm0

I just cannot find it on Netgears compatable list, that doesn't mean it isn't compatable. I would follow the xbox link I gave you and go through their steps. If that doesn't work turn off the security (temporarily) on the router and try with no security, if that works you know it is a security issue.0

So the reason that the xbox is not working with the wireless adaptar is beacause it is not compatable with the router
OP if you go to http://www.xboxlivetheguide.co.uk/News/phpBB2/index.php and sign upto the forums but you need to use an email address from your isp eg victory@bt.com, the people on there helped me to sort my router out,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20
