Blimey I have so much to learn, I thought it had to be somewhere warm to prove?
Nope - the heat helps it rise quicker. You can prove overnight in the fridge - in fact this is meant to be better, allowing it to rise slower. The slower the proove, apparently the better the bread.I first read it in my old school british gas book, and was amazed! I always thought heat too.

i was dubious the first time I did it, but it does work. Honest! :A

here's a thread too where people discuss the different ways of proving

ok, pics for judging. It is a little well done but it's my oven. I accidentally washed off the temperature markings, so sometimes I get it wrong (the brownies i made for work people last sunday - still burnt in the cupboard). Dead crispy and yummy.Took a pic of the middle so you could see the texture etc. Yum.

    Be nice he he

It's in the oven and is a very funny shape! He he. I didnt fold it any particular way, but it looks like one big crease has pooed out in a small extension of its own... May even post a pic when it comes out , as long as you all promise not to laugh!

Ha ha ha ha ha! Laugh away, I put it up for a chuckle anyway.:rotfl:Believe me i was amused . Tasted good though

I figure by openly being an idiot and showing off silly mistakes, then it helps other people not feel so bad about their misgivings! I learn from other peoples mistakes, so I hope they learn from mine! :o

Made some interesting shaped sandwiches though, i can tell you. I ate with my back to everyone in work, so they wouldn't ask what on earth i was eating. They all think my lunches are dead exciting how i make all this stuff?

Ohhhh! Thanks very much ! Woopeeeee! Penny said my bread was good! Off to nab a slice with cheese, yum yums.

Heres my 1st go today, really pleased with the rolls!:j
Wished I'd made loaf in a tin tho, I think the rolls could pass as shop bought. I used fresh yeast and I cant believe how quickly it proved, its a nice sunny day here in the North West

How does it taste? Are the family impressed?

I am attempting my first hand made part wholemeal - first in this recipe. Might pop it in the fridge to prove overnight. LIving alone, i end up eating it all he he! Must get round to freezing some.

    Well done, magnifico :T

No it is dead exciting! Dead proud or something!

Oh gosh, youve more patience than me, i would have devoured one of the rolls warm with butter, and said nothing!

Excellent - did you prove it overnight in the fridge then? Or just at room temp?

Your bread looks better than mine! I would love to make a big massive one, but only me eating it, and i would prefer to make it fresh - but will freeze one sliced soon for emergencies

Do let us know when you have a taste, how it is etc! You'll never go back to shop bught now!
