I have been hunting for a good deal on a new mobile. I came across scancom and there deal involves massive cashbacks. Its much better than anything else i have been offered but I have seen a lot of posts with people having difficulty claiming cash back on other sites.

Am I being paranoid? Has anyone used them? do the cashbacks come?

Thanks in advance

I used them recently to purchase a reduced sized memory card for my phone...sent me the wrong item...after 5 days, then I had problems getting the right one..no reply to emails, even telephoning them didn't help. They even sent me a confirmation email telling me the correct one had been sent with the royal mail tracking number for the wrong one which I'd returned!!!

Finally after an email to their sales department stating I had contacted Trading Standards they telephoned me within 30 seconds (I was impressed:)) Got the correct card 2 weeks after I'd ordered...I still haven't received the promised refund on my cost for having to return the wrong item :( Personally I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole again :(

On the other flip, they have been going since 1997 so it maybe I've just had a bad experience.

Im sorry the previous poster had problems with scancom..although the customer service isnt quality..eg. was promised a car charger for new phone, when they have more stock, never did get it though it was a freebie...i have previously done a cash back deal with them and they paid up promptly...they are reputable dealers and get good deals from the networks...hope this helps to make your decision.
  • They are reputable dealers as they are from the same stable as Scan Computers (https://www.scan.co.uk) however, just like Scan they don't have the greatest customer service.

Their CS isn't too bad - 2 days after I sent in my cb claim I got a call asking for bank a/c details which they didn't have on file - unusual for a co to be pro-active when they need to pay you cb. Plus the deal I was on you got all your cashback after m2 which is less worrying than 3 calims over 12 m
    I think....

It's typical of companies like this to give customer service a low priority. I had a problem with something my brother bought from the computer co scan. They refused to believe there was a problem and didn't seem to know much about their products. Got a refund eventually though.
