Im not suggesting a revolution and off with their heads attitude to ORs (although lets not discount this option off hand:rotfl:) but its a timely reminder that some things are simply above balance sheets and expense reports.

Well done and Hero sounds quite the character

.....how many times today am I going to get teary thanks to the support and warmth on here?????????? (I have given in and poured myself half a glass of wine/am allowed 1 bottle per month).

Rich - I know that you are probably still debating pros/cons of BR and please don't let my experience put you off (anyway it's a bit different for you Scots IIRC) - but - to be honest - it has put me off retrospectively that's for sure - I know I know, impossible. And of course that's my circumstances which are unique to me.......... everyone's are very different.

One thing that the OR and I agreed on is that I was woefully inadequately advised (which is why I have always ""'d my Adviser) and too often people are led to believe that it is very simple and clean cut - like a beheading I suppose - yeah but look at Anne Boleyn's (oops, wine, me, tired - bad mix). What I wanted to say to her was "You can't surprise me, I'm a fully paid up member of the best and most useful forum there is......" But the thing that scares me is without this, I would have gone into it virtually blind and the shock of today would have been devastating for me.

So - big, bigger, BIGGEST thank you's :kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss:

So far i have nt seen one person on this board that has not taken their BR very very seriously and one does get a sense of regret in even the most jovial posters words.
The group dynamics are a lesson in itself on this forum and the different outlooks to personal circumstances give a well balanced overview of what to expect should one go for the BR option.

I should get home within the next week or so and im pleased that this time im going home with a concrete set of options for my wife and i to talk through and thats all thanks to this forum.(its actually quite disturbing to know that there are still people out there in exactly the same circumstances as us that dont know this forum is here.....)

    best wishes .....Rich

You haven't read my post as being critical of here have you....... (worried). My criticism is of the limited advice - and seeming therefore knowledge - of my CAB "Adviser". From dipping a toe in the water of becoming a CAB Adviser (no""'s if it's me you see...), I know that they cannot actually deviate form the -admittedly huge -database of advice that is available to them. It is only thanks to this forum that I know any more than "Fill in these forms, pay the fee (find a way), go to Court. End of." NOOOOOO! We all know better.

Where most of us would be without it scares me.

IIRC your wife isn't wanting to do it, is she? I hope that you and she can work out the best direction to take; you are lucky to have each other.

    Take care - TTFN

    |Goodness nooooo:eek: not in the slightest and apologies if it seemed that way....i was agreeing with your sentiment completely that this forum is a godsend and realised you were talking about the advice you received from your advisor(I really must go back to writing war and peace sized posts to avoid confusion:rotfl:)

No she does nt want to at all and i guess its fair to say we do have different outlooks on our woes but i do hope now we can find the middle ground on this and move forward but i wont discuss it on the phone and so ill wait until i get home.

    Best wishes

Oh PS - Rich don't let the thought of the safety stuff for Off-Shore deter you - although, my ex-husband nearly drowned in a swimming pool at the Humberside course. Shame.

Hey Got2change - just a quick one from me. I too have a veteran horse - 36 to be exact! Although mine is a huge amount to keep each month and far from cheap I will never part from her and she has given so much over the years that she owes me nothing.

Anyway cant offer any advice but just wanted to offer support. Your horse will let you know when it is time and nothing and no one (really bad english there!) should tell you otherwise.

Mine has so far recovered from a broken leg, a minor stroke and a bad case of colic - she is indestructable!

ps - I know it is horrible to think about but I want my mare cremating when the time comes and most places do a monthly payment plan of around £18.00 or so - they will collect your horse and return the ashes to you in a casket x x x x

There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.
